Thrive Corporate Advisors is a Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (“B-BBEE”) consulting and advisory firm which assists the corporate sector with all aspects of B-BBEE legislation.

Thrive Corporate Advisors is a B-BBEE Consulting and Advisory company which focuses on assisting companies to achieve their B-BBEE objectives. This includes but is not limited to monitoring the B-BBEE status levels/scoring achieved by our clients, reviewing and implementing B-BBEE initiatives and developing B-BBEE transformation strategies.

We take pride in facilitating innovative and uniquely tailored solutions to optimize our clients’ B-BBEE scorecards. We provide short, medium and long-term solutions and are proactively involved in our clients’ transformation strategies. Our first step is always to obtain an in-depth understanding of the nature of the business, corporate culture and B-BBEE requirements in order to implement meaningful B-BBEE transformation initiatives.

Our team of B-BBEE consultants have consulted with numerous listed and unlisted entities forming part of a broad spectrum of sectors. The founders of Thrive Corporate Advisors have extensive knowledge of the B-BBEE legislation with an aggregate of more than 15 years of B-BBEE experience in consulting and verifications. Ricardo De Souza

Ricardo De Souza began his career in the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment sector in 2009. He was a director of a unit specialising in complex B-BBEE verifications and ownership, which was part of a SANAS Accredited Agency. Additionally, was a SANAS-accredited Technical signatory.

Nthabiseng Lempe

Nthabiseng Lempe began her career in the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) sector in 2011. She worked as a B-BBEE analyst and ownership specialist at a SANAS accredited verification agency.

Marc Thompson

Marc Thompson began his career in the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment sector in 2011. He was a director at a SANAS accredited verification agency as well as a SANAS Accredited Technical signatory during is time there.

Ricardo De Souza

Co-Founder

Ricardo De Souza began his career in the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment sector in 2009.

He was a director of a unit specialising in complex B-BBEE verifications and ownership, which was part of a SANAS Accredited Agency. Additionally, was a SANAS-accredited Technical signatory.

Through vetting and implementing structures alongside reputable law firms, corporate financiers and other industry leaders, Ricardo has become a specialist regarding the B-BBEE legislation. Ricardo’s B-BBEE expertise spans numerous industries with a clientele comprising of multinationals and JSE-listed entities.

Ricardo’s exposure to the SANAS verification procedure, application methodologies and interpretations of the B-BBEE legislation ensure his clients are well-prepared for their annual B-BBEE verification. Ricardo has an exemplary track record of assisting a broad spectrum of clientele in reaching their required B-BBEE Contributor Status Levels.

Ricardo’s qualifications include an Honours in BCom Investment Management from the University of Pretoria, UNISA’s Management Development Programme and an MBA from GIBS.

Nthabiseng Lempe

Executive Partner

Nthabiseng Lempe began her career in the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) sector in 2011.

She worked as a B-BBEE analyst and ownership specialist at a  SANAS accredited verification agency.  Her role involved conducting verifications for clients across various sectors and assessing complex ownership structures.  Her audit background and understanding of audit procedures and methodology add value to all her client engagements.

Her passion for transformation and corporate governance led her to the founding of an advisory company that specialized in bespoke transformation solutions with a focus on B-BBEE compliance for 4 years prior to joining Thrive Corporate Advisors.  

She has extensive experience and a multi-faceted approach to B-BBEE advisory and implementation across various B-BBEE Sector Charters.  Nthabiseng specializes in providing strategic direction and operational support in terms of B-BBEE implementation.  She manages ownership compliance by offering governance support as a trustee in an era and industry where good governance is no longer a nice to have.

Nthabiseng holds a National Diploma in Business Management from the University of Johannesburg and a qualification as a Chartered Governance Practitioner with the Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa (CGISA).

Marc Thompson

Co-Founder

Marc Thompson began his career in the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment sector in 2011. He was a director at a SANAS accredited verification agency as well as a SANAS Accredited Technical signatory during is time there.

With vast experience in analysing and assessing complex ownership structures, Marc specialises in determining the impact of such structures on clients’ B-BBEE scorecards. He has conducted B-BBEE verifications for a variety of companies within South Africa, in line with the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice and various sector codes.

Due to his extensive knowledge of the various B-BBEE Charters, Marc has conducted assessments for businesses in all economic sectors, successfully aligning his customers’ B-BBEE strategies to their specific industries. He has also conducted numerous due diligence assessments, aiding clients to comply with Volume 5 (Economic Development Scorecard) of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme, when submitting tenders.

Marc holds an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business (GIBS) which he completed in 2021 as well as a BCom in Financial Management from the University of the Free State, which he completed in 2008, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning, which he completed in 2009. Marc has also completed the B-BBEE Management Development Programme through UNISA in 2014.
